I remember a dinner not too long ago. We were in a room in a restaurant in Washington, DC. We were there to talk about privacy and policy. Some of us conservative, some of us liberal, breaking bread together.
One of the dinner guests brought up a controversial topic. I grew tense. Another dinner guest gently replied, “Let’s not go there. We may not agree on this issue, but we do agree that we need to protect people’s right to privacy.” The first dinner guest nodded. We enjoyed the time together over good food and wine, unified in purpose.
I think about that night often.
I came across this tweet today. It warmed my heart.
Inside the walls of ECC and across the Zcash ecosystem, we have different views on many things. And yet we are marked by love and respect for one another.
Our shared purpose is pure. At its heart is a deep respect for humanity. This community is building a world where people are free to express themselves, where they can feel secure, and where liberty is protected. And it is in our unified purpose that we find the resolve and resilience it is taking to realize it fully.
I’m proud to stand with you all.
Here’s how we were unified in purpose this week:
