hi there,
I installed the newest Android and Windows Y Wallet software, But they dont work. I cannot send the Zec
please help me

Hey there,

I am trying to send some funds from my Ywallet in fedora to different address but it doesn’t seem to work.
It says transaction successful but nothing happens.
I tried so many times just gives me transaction id but nothing happens.
I tried to increase the fee still the same.
I have latest version of Ywallet.

Anyone has any idea how to solve this?

Can you check which server you are connecting to, and the version of Ywallet?

Newest working version of Ywallet is 1.8 since the network update.

Also, ensure you are fully synchronized before you make a transaction. The network has undergone a few upgrades since its inception, and the wallet will submit a transaction based on the branch ID at the height at which it is synchronized.

I have a question that might be a noob one but if I have a private key and I try to sweep it, keeps telling me that the funds are not enough. The address has a balance of 0.142 ZEC but does not allow me to sweep it. Using Ywallet by the way.

Probably the required fee to complete the transaction is larger than the balance itself.

Just out of curiosity, are you trying to move funds from any of these addresses?

These are so called “Spam addresses”, they received tons of small transactions and can not be transferred due to the reason I mentioned earlier.

This has to do specifically with the individual note values that address holds. Because it’s transparent, you should be able to retrieve that information with the address using a full node and ‘getaddressutxos’

Im not too sure if this is a wide spread issue, but im getting some trouble with the key tool which slowed my progress moving my zec from ledger to keystone… on both windows desktop and android, the issues vary for each type of install

Android: when i try to change the account index number, the keyboard flashes up and down very quickly, then closes and does not allow me to change the number, this was an issue as I had multiple accounts on ledger where i needed to change the index number to access the private key

Windows: when i go to the key tool, it defaults to the screen where all the addresses and keys are meant to be but as i havent been able to load the parameters in for the index etc it does not populate the list. I was able to work around this by changing the size of the program window, when i reduced it to about half the screen size the intial screen appeared (with account and address index and external/shielded toggles)

Otherwise worked well, i do suggest a search function though to help locate the addresses rather than scroll though hundreds of addresses looking for the right one

Cheers @hanh

I also had trouble with the key tool on Ubuntu 22.04. When I click “Key Tool”, the app goes straight to the table but no choice on what keys to generate. The Sweep function still works though.

Change aspect ratio of the window to mobile/portrait

The switch between table and list is based on landscape vs portrait in auto mode. You can pick manually select a mode in the settings but the easiest is to resize the window (or flip the device).
As for searching, it’d be good to have. In the meantime, the sweep function will automatically scan addresses for the ones that have funds. I believe this covers most of the cases including the recovery from Ledger.
Cheers

ps: no idea about the keyboard bug.

Re: Troubleshooting Ywallet

Problem: ZEC shows in wallet, fully synced but doesn’t send.

Symptoms: Pulsing concentric circles, for hours when trying to send. The coins don’t send. The balance stays the same. But the “spendable” ZEC drops to zero after trying to send.

I’ve tried:

Fresh VM sync: Downloaded latest Ywallet. Restored wallet from seed. Did a fresh sync in a new VM.

2 tries now, with the same result.

I can’t send the ZEC.

Please advise.

I’ve heard of from another and myself had a similar issue with spending Sapling to Orchard, but after I updated to 1.8.0+ it cleared. The other user switched to zashi and got around it that way. Ywallet will indicate what pools to send to and also draw notes from to be sent. In the tx creation screen, when you click the little slider icon, it shows two colored bars with buttons that you can select and de-select to control the coins. This can help determine exactly what kind of tx you’re making and may help here to know for troubleshooting or determining a way to get around, if you care to share e.g. what note types you’re spending and to what address(es) types.

I’m trying to use ywallet to get to my ledger zec & move them. I’ve restored with the 25th word - doesn’t show the right address. But when I sweep with an index of 1 - I see the balance. After sweeping and clicking - it gives me an error of “failed to validate tx: WtxId(private), error: transaction did not pass consensus validation: transaction uses an incorrect consensus branch id”

Any ideas?

P.S. - I’ve tried the normal restore, get a different address than what was on my ledger, assume it is the index it’s using on the keys or something. Tried restoring w index of 1, yet a different address.

Are you using version 1.8.1?

ah - no. 1.5.4+513 - downloaded 1.8.1. It looks like the sweep worked! I assume this is sending it to the other address it generated off the key?

Edit: That worked! Thank you!
