Z9 performance and general discussion

Yes…who was still thinking about the purchase before the 1st of August got 1 less thing to care for.

?? I just looked, still available for the 24 August - September 4th delivery. Maybe temp Out Of Stock while they confirmed they had quantities available still??

Possible. As well as many that purchased one didn’t confirm the purchase/paid for it. My guess is that after a purchase the given unit gets onhold for 5-7 days until payment is confirmed. If it’s not, it’s available again.

And of course and for sure part of the buyers didn’t pay the whole amount in advance and failed to pay for it until deathline, not that it makes much sense, but fore sure a lot of these too.

And eventually they continue to produce some more (extra) if they see there is demand, even i can’t really imagine that with the Z9 (big) and Innosilicon announced by now.

Mostly a mix of all the above and your guess leads to temporary sold out and than available again status.
Just my guess of course.

uhmmm, it’s a 1800W PSU, at least for 220V like in europe.

If i remember right the US asic guys build a custom el. circuit for their Asics so they use 220V too.

Agreed. Even in GPU mining if you have more a a couple rigs you eventually switch to 220v as it’s more efficient and you can maximize your power utilization. I have 220V 30amp setup for my GPU rigs. I can get 4-5 7 card 1070 rigs per 30amp circuit. I just use a PDU similar to this (I use APC)

Anything more than a hobby and you want at least 220v for your home/garage setup. Some day day dreams I will build out a farm like BitBeTrippin =P 330 rigs, 2500 GPUs, commercial 3 phase power etc. If you haven’t looked at the farm he built check it on his twitch and youtube channels…never would have guessed he scaled up to that degree.

Seen that video farm was massive and also quite impressive and I have done the same thing in my home got a 400 amp service installed 200 for my home 200 for rigs. Rigs all run off 220v had 10 220v receptacles installed.

Definitely sold out.

I would be very surprised if they opened the Z9 mini’s back up since its near their pro order cut off date and that they are taking their banking system offline.

Our company’s bank account information will be updated July 31st to August 1st 2018 approximately between the hours of 22:00 to 02:00 (GMT+8). During this short period, it will not be possible to place orders via our website. Once bank account information is updated successfully, website functionality will return as normal and a notice on our website will display our new company bank account pay-in details.

The part about “dont mention crypto” was a little odd to me.

Sounds like they’re in trouble with their bank/Chinese regulators. Must not have paid their bribe this year.

^Disregard my previous statement

Actually it’s reverse.

This is for our comfort. In many countries, like mine. Banks refuse to do wire transfers if Bitcoin or Crypto is mentioned. When you get transfers from known exchanges like coinbase the banks return the wires as they embargo everything crypto in many countries.

For example. When i make a payment to Bitmain i get asked by the bank for what i pay and i declare it as a computer like unit, not to run into trouble. Than the transfer order gets faxed to the bank headquarter for checking (about 30 minutes) after that it’s cleared. I even edit the proforma from bitmain slightly and replace Antminer with “unit” to avoid even this.

For sure many european members here have similar problems with it comes to transfers/wires to/from exchanges or whatever crypto. The banks here, with some exclusions, just embargo everything Crypto related.

If i remember right somewhere they mention that this is that returns (or similar) don’t get returned again by the buyers bank as it would result in a endless loop of wires forth and back.

Honk Kong bankers, recently, closed hundreds bank accounts. Some “big one too”. They do not declare the reasons, they just switch it off. Rumours say crypto may be one of the reasons. I’m quite sure they are part of this crack down, even if mostly are HSBC group accounts.

That’s good information. I was speaking from a position of ignorance on the subject; I never do wire transfers.

Hi,

story: buddy sold me his 2 z9 mini (2k) a couple of days ago.
noob question: I am at antpool now (~26 ksol/600W)- but seems they dont share the fees (?). Which pool (with asic support) should a noob like me choose (and which reward system - PPS, PPLNS, maybe the slushpool score-thing)?

tnx 4 help

i would suggest miningpoolhub, low fees, reliable, and you can even autoswitch and autoexchange to ZEC. I think it’s a good pool for beginners.

Slush supports, supposedly zero fees
Edit-their thread should be visible near the top

I’ve mined with Flypool, and they have given me about 15k sol/s worth of hashpower for ZEC for my single Z9 mini. Switched to mining ZCL yesterday on Miningpool hub (MPH), auto-exchange to ZEC. This seems, for the time being, to be quite more profitable than mining ZEC directly. I’ve only just switched, so I have no solid numbers on profit yet.

I was a bit concerned with MPH’s auto switch mining (ZEC-ZCL-ZEN) as they use the PPLNS payout structure. PPLNS will, over time, punish pool hopping, as some of your shares won’t count towards payout. I don’t know if MPH corrects for this when you choose to use their own Equihash switch algorithm, so I chose to mine one coin only.

Besides that, I would recommend you visit this thread for a list of where to mine with the Z9 mini.

I’m mining at ViaBTC pps and getting about 0.11-0.14 ZEC per day for my one Z9 mini
