Today, FPF opened a Helios poll of the Zcash Community Advisory Panel (ZCAP), which will run until June 30th, 20:00 UTC. The purpose of this poll is to fill two seats on the Zcash Community Grants committee (ZCG).
Elections to the Zcash Community Grants Committee
Members of the Zcash Community Grants (ZCG) committee are elected by the Zcash Community Advisory Panel, and serve a one year term. Two of the current members’ terms are expiring at the end of this year. Last month, we invited candidates to express their interest in serving on the committee.
Five candidates are standing for two seats on the committee. Here is the list of candidates, with links to their candidacy announcements:
The candidates took part in a Community Call, during which they introduced themselves and answered questions from the Zcash community. You can watch a recording of the call on Youtube.
The poll will be decided by approval voting for two out of the 5 candidates. The two candidates with the most approval votes will become the new ZCG committee members with immediate effect.
ZCAP members should check their mailbox for instructions on how to vote. In the past, Helios emails have sometimes been flagged as spam, so if you can’t find the instructions please check your Spam folder.
Good luck to all the candidates, and thank you for volunteering to serve on the ZCG committee!
It will be interesting to see how many ZCAP members vote.
My ZCAP inclusion lapsed on missing one vote. There will always be soft incentives to exclude crunchy participants from governance. Heh, look at bitcoin.
@lawzec, this is the policy: ZCAP operates under a “use it or lose it” policy, where members must actively participate in polls to maintain their membership. Members who do not participate in three consecutive ZCAP polls may be removed, unless they have valid reasons for not voting.

Many privacy advocates such as myself refuse to directly use Google services (including YouTube) so any transcript I read will be created by a third party.
Luckily the video link you posted also works on a number of more privacy respecting apps such as NewPipe, Grayjay or LibreTube.
The entire video is worth watching but the portion starting between the 40th and 41st minute (about the future of Zcash shielded vs transparent transaction availability ideals) was of particular interest to me. Thank you
I encountered an unexpected microphone issue during the call, despite thorough pre call testing. As suggested by @Zooko here https://x.com/zooko/status/1936500587052630059, I have shared a clear, concise 10 minute recording of my session input. I invite you to listen to it at your convenience before casting your vote. I appreciate you for your time and consideration.
Congratulations to @decentralistdan and @GGuy. FPF will be in touch shortly to discuss onboarding.
Thank you to @prabh, @vaspholdings and @Qdev for running in this election! You are all fantastic candidates and hopefully you’ll all consider running again at the end of 2025.
93 ZCAP members voted in this poll (50.27%). We hope to see better participation in the next ZCG poll. Please encourage fellow ZCAP members to engage and participate!
