Last month, with @aquietinvestor@zerodartz and @artkor’s terms ending on December 31st, FPF opened nominations for the vacant seats. 17 candidates are standing for election. Here is a list of the candidates, with links to their candidacy announcements on the Zcash Community forum:
The candidates took part in a community call, during which they introduced themselves, and responded to questions from the Zcash community. FPF encourages you to watch the recording of the call on Youtube, to get to know the candidates before you decide who to vote for.
The election poll is live, and will close at 20:00 UTC on Thursday, December 18th.
You should have already received an email from Zcash Foundation with instructions on how to vote. If you have not received an email by tomorrow, check your Spam folder for an email from election@siv.org. If you still can’t find the email, please contact zcap-poll-help@zfnd.org
As with previous polls, the election will be decided by approval voting. The poll will allow you to indicate which of the 17 candidates you approve of, and you are allowed to indicate approval for as many candidates as you choose. The three candidates who receive the most approvals by the time the poll closes will become the new ZCG Committee members. They will serve a one-year term, ending on December 31, 2026. Committee members may stand for re-election at the end of their term.
Please make sure you check your spam filter if you don’t see your ballot in your inbox.
Kind regards,
FPF on behalf of the Zcash Community Grants Committee (ZCG)
You need to be a member of ZCAP to vote. To become a member you need to meet the eligibility requirements. It’s too late for this vote but there will likely be multiple ZCAP votes in 2026 so it’s worth checking out the steps and either requesting to be added or working towards eligibility over the coming months.
@thowar2 the list usually lives on the ZFND ZCAP page but we’re having some uploading issues so here is a direct link to the list. It’ll be uploaded to that page once we resolve the issue.
Some feedback about SIV:
It seems to me you can’t change your vote. It would be a nice feature in case you change your mind upon further reflection or new evidence. If I remember correctly, this feature was available in the previous voting application, which was an appreciated feature.
My vote is cast! With a lineup like this I’m glad that we can do approval voting. Picking only 3 would have been . Good luck to all of the candidates, and I can’t wait to see the outcome of this election!
This election aside, I noticed that the election status page doesn’t show the public who voted. I’m curious about @ZcashFoundation‘s ability to audit voter participation, and if culling non-participants from ZCAP will still be possible in the future with the SIV platform? Thanks!
Thanks for your question. ZF’s admins can see which usernames have cast a ballot and which have not, but cannot see how any individual voted. The content of each vote is/remains private. The aggregate totals become public once the poll closes.
To help encourage a strong voter turnout, tomorrow we’ll be sharing a list of usernames that have not yet voted so that community members can reach out to their friends and colleagues to remind them to vote.
Several community members have told us they plan to watch the community call and submit their vote over the weekend. To support this, we will wait until Monday to share a list of usernames who have not yet voted, so that community members can remind their friends and colleagues to participate.
Here’s the list of ZCAP members’ usernames who haven’t yet voted. We’re sharing this list so community members can remind their friends and colleagues to participate in the election before the deadline on December 18th at 20:00 UTC.
We also recognize that some members may need additional time to reflect and make their determinations. This reminder isn’t meant to rush anyone, it’s simply an opportunity to ensure that personal outreach can occur in case the formal communications haven’t reached everyone.
Thanks in advance for your help in encouraging full participation!
not voting is a vote to not vote. i would think that there is some merit to consider those who do not vote to have voted for radbro/nobody particularly in the past the post voting mechanism
This December 2025 ZCG election has officially concluded! In total, 145 members (79%) of ZCAP cast their ballots in this election to fill the vacant seats held by @Aquietinvestor, @Zerodartz, and @Artkor, whose terms end on December 31st.
Using the approval voting method, ZCAP members responded to the question “Which of the following candidates do you approve of as ZCG members?” and were able to indicate approval for as many candidates as they wished.
The three candidates who received the highest number of approvals to serve as ZCG Committee members through December 31, 2026 are: @Zerodartz: 108 (74.5%), @Artkor: 84 (57.9%), @Hanh: 75 (51.7%). Congratulations!
Throughout the election process, feedback we received from community members was relayed to the SIV team. They compiled these suggestions into a list of potential feature improvements. Shoutout to the SIV team for their amazing support and quick responses during our first ZCAP election using this new voting platform!
Congratulations to @hanh , @zerodartz and @artkor . We look forward to working with you over the next year. A big thank-you to all of the candidates—you each represented yourselves well and honored the election process we’ve just completed. Thank you as well to ZCAP for a great turnout.
New and returning ZCG members, FPF will be in contact via email with next steps
And thank you all for having me, giving me a platform to express my opinions, and trusting me with 30% of the votes.
For an outsider like myself, this is a big deal and a great result.
I am sure that the voting power is in good hands and I hope that the best ideas presented during this democratic exercise will be used for the benefit of the entire Zcash ecosystem.
