Zcash en Español X account suspended

Hello Zcashers!

I’m writing to share some unfortunate news: Today, X/Twitter suspended the Zcash en Español X account for the following reason:

Your account was suspended for impersonating a brand account on X. In order to review your appeal further, we will require more documentation from you.

We have already contacted the @ZcashFoundation to find a solution to this issue, but I wanted to alert all community members who have been managing X accounts under the name Zcash for several years, such as Zcash Brazil @Michae2xl, Zcash Turkey @Batuhan, Zcash Nigeria @lisa001, and others.

The Zcash in Spanish team hopes to resolve this incident soon and reactivate the X account we’ve been building for over four years. We’ve created a lot of content, organized events, and built connections through this X account to promote information, education, and adoption of Zcash in Spanish.

We will do everything possible to restore the X account so we can continue promoting financial privacy with Zcash on this social network.

For now, we will continue creating content on our other digital platforms, so you can find us on Bluesky.

We’re moving forward!

This is really sad. I hope a solution can be found. Our Zcash Türkiye TikTok account was also shut down around three times for reasons we still don’t know.

No giving up — we’ll keep spreading Zcash to more people. Thank you for your efforts.

Twitter is getting worse and worse.

Crypto enthusiasts—and especially those concerned with privacy—should take a firm stand and make a permanent switch to other platforms that are freer and less toxic.

We’ve provided @yoditar with the required signed statement to support reinstatement. If any other Zcash communities run into a similar problem please reach out to us and we’ll review and see what support we can provide based on your specific situation.

That’s sad! I hope you can recover it, losing a work account isn’t easy. I lost a personal account over something silly.

I recommend that all community accounts save backups or request data, I’m doing that right now to see what we can recover.

This quite a sad developement , i hope it is resolved sooon and the account restored. please do keep us updated. this has actually made me start thinking towards a plan B

Thank you for your support! According to what some people have told us, someone reported the account for brand impersonation. We’ll never know for sure. We would lose more than four years of work if we can’t recover the account. Despite this, we’re moving forward with building the Spanish-speaking Zcash community.

I’m sorry to hear what happened to your personal account; you have great content and have done a fantastic job promoting Zcash through that account.

We’re still waiting for a response from the X support team after sending the requested documents. I’ll keep you updated.

Thanks for your support! We’re exploring other options, but for now we’ll be more active on Bluesky. If there are any changes to our strategy, we’ll be in touch.

We created the Bluesky account as a backup plan in case something like this happened. And it did.

I think that at some point we’ll need to migrate to decentralized social networks. It won’t happen soon, and it won’t be easy. But it’s necessary. X is a very centralized platform.

As soon as I hear from the support team, I’ll let you know right away.

Curiously, yesterday I attempted to create a Twitter (X) account for one of the Zcash Clubs but was unsuccessful; the accounts were blocked immediately. I am not entirely sure how long the official Zcash account on X has held the verification badge designating it as an official organization, nor am I certain whether this will pose an obstacle to creating Zcash-related accounts going forward; however, it certainly warrants attention. It would also be prudent (as a precautionary measure) to back up all the information and content that similar accounts have shared over the years.

UPDATE

After reviewing the requested documentation, the X support team has decided to maintain the suspension of the Zcash en Español account for violating the Authenticity Policy.

We can try to understand or seek possible explanations for why the account was initially suspended for allegedly impersonating a brand and is now being cited for violating authenticity policies. However, what we can gather from this case is that there is no real willingness to lift the suspension.

For this reason, we regret to inform you that the Zcash en Español account will no longer be available on X, nor will we be able to create a new account under X’s rules.

The Zcash en Español account will remain active on Bluesky, where we’ve been creating content since January 2026.

It is important to clarify that the Zcast and ZK Radio accounts on X do not share the same informational and educational content as Zcash en Español on Bluesky, so we invite you to follow and support us on that social network.

In the face of adversity, we continue to build the Spanish-speaking Zcash community.

We would like to thank Alex and the @ZcashFoundation for their support and quick response when we learned that the Zcash en Español account had been suspended on X. We were unable to get the suspension lifted, but it’s good to know that the global community has the Foundation’s support. Thank you very much!

I still think you should insist on this; there’s no basis to support the suspension. How could anyone have reported it? Do you think it was some order from Spain, from Europe, through its legal representative, and they’re hiding the real reason? We can’t say anything for sure, just thoughts, because it’s very strange. Do you remember what your last post was, who managed the account, and who could post?

Thank you for your support and suggestions Michae2xl! The only reason I received a response is because I kept following up for days, asking for a reply after sending the documents requested by the X support team on Thursday, May 14. I get the impression that their intention was to not respond at all and to ignore the ticket I opened.

Seeing that I kept sending emails, they decided to ask me again for the letter from the Zcash Foundation even though I had already sent it. I sent it again, and five minutes later they replied with yet another different argument to say that the account would remain suspended. This leads me to believe that they already had the response prepared and had no intention of lifting the suspension. What support team receives a document, reads it, and responds in less than 5 minutes after an email is sent?

On the other hand, I suppose that upon seeing that the letter legitimately responded that Zcash en Español was not impersonating the Zcash brand, they had to find another excuse to maintain the suspension, since no documents are required for this rule. This makes it easier to keep the suspension in place. If you review the authenticity violation policy, you’ll see that the rule is very broad, so they have many grounds on which to argue that the account is suspended.

I could persist and keep digging, but I suspect there’s something else at play here that we’re not seeing. We don’t know who might have reported the account for impersonation or what the real reasons are for why they’ve targeted the account. We’ve thought a lot about it.

As for the content, I haven’t posted anything different from what has been posted over the past four years. There is no copyrighted content or content that isn’t part of the community, people, or institutions promoting Zcash with a presence on X.
