@hanh can we get a proper blog post with all the details so no one has any confusion left
@joshs ecc can also help along with @Dodger ZF
To be completely clear: (i) this ārefresh the amountā comment means that only Orchard amounts landing into a new note during the registration period can be voted?
(ii) Is this a choice for efficiency or to balance some other consideration? (Could the same polling method ever be open to āallā Orchard notes from the inception of the pool?)
Please refer to the documentation https://forum.zcashcommunity.com/t/coin-weighted-poll/47964/11
Will the test poll and the real poll be related in any way?
Iām considering taking coins out of storage for the real poll only, but if its necessary to also participate in the test poll first, then Iāve got to get busy today (!)
This is covered by the doc.
please take the time to read the doc before asking questions.
The snapshot is less than a day away.
This is a friendly reminder that only the coins as Orchard notes in the registration range can be used for voting, (on either vote).
If you havenāt registered, you wonāt be able to vote.
PS: Also, I remind you that the code is not audited at the time but the vote is not signed with your spending key.
Is there a test poll registration range, and a real poll registration range?
Or does todayās range validate for both?
I am eager to try this ā Iām probably one of the most gung ho about CHV ā but despite my deep respect for Hanh Iām just not comfortable with closed source, unaudited code.
@ambimorph i too agree with your statements code need to be audited for future work
zcash need on-chain activity for its security budget
With all due respect, the ZCG requested splitting the grant into multiple phases. At the moment, only the ZIP part is approved. Of course, if the project was funded, all the source code would be opened for audit.
But I donāt think it is right for the ZCG to request access to the source code that they have explicitly requested not to fund at this point.
It needs to be the version
You can also find in the Google BETA appstore but not iOS.
This is not me as a member of ZCG asking for access to source code, this is me as a Zcash holder saying I donāt put my ZEC into a closed source unaudited piece of software.
Thatās totally fine. I understand entirely and respect your decision 100%.
Voting has begun. We have received some ballots. Thanks!
okay Iāll try that thank you, if I missed that somewhere in this thread my apologies!
For the test vote, there is a live result website
voting worked with the updated version
Can you please provide the test vote link?
Sorry but i canāt found the link in the weighted poll doc!
Hi, hanh! Thank you for implementing this awesome feature! As I mentioned to you privately, I tried a test petition (āvoteā), and I got this error message:
Iām writing this public post to help other users understand.
This was with the current version of Ywallet in the Apple App Storeāv1.6.1:
If I understand correctly, this bug is fixed in the beta version of Ywallet on githubāv1.6.2+7:
However, I donāt know how to install apps from github on my iPhone. Is there a way to do this that you recommend? I did just install TestFlight from Apple, which is apparently the Apple-supported way to install beta-testing versions of apps. This is what it shows when I open it:
Do you offer invitation redeem codes for people like me who want to test the beta version of Ywallet?
Thanks again!
It is not possible for me to upload updates to iOS but all of the other platforms work.
