Zcash Global Ambassador – Monthly Report
Reporting Period: December 2025
Ambassador: Elzz (@CQ_ElzzCQ_Elzz)
Introduction & Monthly Summary
December was a month of adaptation, a required shift in approach due to reduced availability and attention across the community during the festive period.
With end-of-year festivities limiting availability for physical meetups and workshops, I shifted focus toward a more flexible, community-first approach. That decision led to the #12DaysOfZECmas challenge, which became the backbone of activity this month and was later featured in Zcash CEO Josh Swihart’s weekly update.
This month, I focused on:
- Driving hands-on interaction with Zcash tools in a low-friction way,
- Creating shared community moments around interactions with the Zcash tech, rather than just awareness,
- Expanding reach and visibility through consistent content and live conversations.
Despite the seasonal slowdown, we achieved quite a lot in December.

Key Initiative
1. #12DaysOfZECmas Community Challenge
The #12DaysOfZECmas challenge was designed to move Zcash from concept to practice by encouraging daily interaction with the Zcash ecosystem, particularly the Zashi wallet.
Over 12 days, participants were guided through activities including:
- Downloading and setting up Zashi
- Making shielded payments
- Swapping assets with the NEAR intents bridge
- Moving funds on-chain
- Participating in community spaces and community calls
- Creating and sharing content around their experiences
The challenge emphasized doing, not just learning, and successfully lowered the psychological barrier many users associate with privacy technology.
2. Key outcomes
Total reach across X: 110,108 impressions
Total participants across 12 days: 37
New Zashi downloads: 10
X Spaces attendance (Day 10 Space): 65 live participants
New Discord community members: 9
Total challenge-related posts: 268
Participants repeatedly highlighted how surprisingly easy it was to use Zashi, especially around payments and swaps, challenging the assumption that privacy tools are inherently complex.
3. Community X Space – Real User Experiences
A dedicated X Space was hosted during the challenge, centered entirely on participant experiences with #12DaysOfZECmas.
Rather than education-led discussion, the space allowed:
- Non-technical users to share firsthand experiences
- Honest feedback on Zashi usability
- Open conversations about privacy
This session reinforced the idea that adoption begins when users feel confident enough to try, not necessarily when they fully understand the underlying cryptography.
4. Feature in Josh Swihart’s Update
A significant milestone this month was the inclusion of the #12DaysOfZECmas initiative in Josh Swihart’s official Zcash update on 22nd December 2025.
This feature:
- Validated the initiative at a protocol leadership level,
- Exposed the challenge to a wider, more global Zcash audience
- Reinforced the importance of community-led adoption efforts
- Boosted participation momentum during the latter part of the challenge and increased overall visibility.
5. Ecosystem Impact
The #12DaysOfZECmas challenge contributed to the Zcash ecosystem by:
- Driving real Zashi usage
- Lowering perceived complexity around privacy
- Onboarding non-technical users through experience
- Strengthening community engagement and participation
Most importantly, it demonstrated that adoption begins when users feel confident enough to try, not when they fully understand the technology.
6. Acknowledgements
Special thanks to @ZecHub for consistently amplifying and supporting the #12DaysOfZECmas challenge.
Gratitude as well to every community member who participated, joined spaces, shared experiences and helped turn this initiative into a living example of Zcash in use.
Collaborations
On December 11, I hosted a Twitter/X Space with the Zcash Ghana Ambassador as a guest, centered on the topic “The Concept of Privacy in Africa.”
The discussion contextualized privacy beyond abstract crypto narratives, grounding it in everyday African realities, from financial visibility and informal economies to personal autonomy and freedom. This helped participants relate privacy both off-chain and on-chain, and understand it as a prerequisite for true freedom rather than a niche technical feature.
The Space saw strong engagement and meaningful audience participation, reinforcing the importance of region-specific conversations when advocating for privacy-preserving technologies like Zcash.
Challenges & Adjustments
Planned activities like the Zec Talent Hub workshop and in-person meetup were not executed in December due to limited availability of key contributors and reduced community participation during the festive period.
Instead of forcing low-impact execution, the strategy shifted toward a flexible, asynchronous initiative (#12DaysOfZECmas), which proved more effective for the time period.
The Zec Talent Hub workshop has been intentionally rescheduled to February, allowing adequate time for coordination, feedback and broader community involvement.
Next Month’s Plan
January: coordination, planning, and feedback collection for the Zec Talent Hub workshop
February: execution of the workshop with broader community involvement
Continued focus on onboarding, real usage, and community-led initiatives building on the momentum from ZECmas.
Conclusion
December showed that adoption can continue even under tight constraints when the approach is practical and community-driven.
The #12DaysOfZECmas challenge enabled real usage, strengthened participation, and reinforced the value of experience-based onboarding. These outcomes provide a solid foundation to build on in the new year.
Moving forward, the focus will be on consolidating this momentum and expanding initiatives that turn interest into sustained participation.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve the Zcash community and the continued support from everyone.
