Zcash Ambassador Monthly Report
Reporting Period: January 2026
Ambassador: Elzz (@CQ_Elzz)
Introduction & Monthly Summary (January 2026)
January was a strong continuity month focused on education, onboarding and ecosystem alignment.
My activity this month was driven largely by direct community feedback and real questions coming from users, which informed both content direction and live discussions.
Rather than pushing predefined narratives, I focused on paying attention to how the community was interacting with Zcash concepts and where confusion or curiosity naturally emerged. This approach helped surface and address knowledge gaps around core Zcash concepts, particularly shielding, while continuing hands-on onboarding through meetups and live demonstrations.
In parallel, behind-the-scenes ecosystem work progressed toward improving ZEC accessibility, with early collaboration underway on local on-ramp and off-ramp infrastructure.
This month, my focus was on:
- Clarifying core Zcash concepts through community-driven education
- Reinforcing adoption through hands-on onboarding and live demos
- Strengthening ecosystem accessibility through early infrastructure collaboration
These efforts helped maintain momentum coming out of December while setting the stage for larger initiatives planned for February.

A key content theme this month centered around shielding ZEC. A community response to one of my posts celebrating the fact that approximately 30% of the total ZEC supply is now shielded prompted a deeper educational thread and a longer-form article explaining what shielding actually means and why it matters.
The response to that article revealed a clear knowledge gap, which directly led to the hosting of a dedicated Space with Shielded Labs Engineering Manager, Mark. That Space became one of the most engaging discussions this month, with strong audience participation and thoughtful questions around privacy, shielding mechanics, and ecosystem impact.
Key Activities & Initiatives
1. Community X Space – Shield Up: Unlocking Zcash’s Full Potential
The space hosted this month focused entirely on shielding ZEC, featuring Mark from Shielded Labs.
The discussion helped demystify shielding for many listeners and reframed it not just as a technical feature, but as a core expression of Zcash’s privacy guarantees. The level of engagement during the Space made it clear that this topic resonated deeply with the community and addressed an unmet educational need.
This Space reinforced the importance of building education directly around community questions, rather than assumed knowledge levels.
2. Micro-Meetup & Onboarding Session
An in-person meetup was hosted this month with 15 attendees.
As has become consistent across onboarding sessions, the standout moment was participants interacting with the Zashi wallet and experiencing the Near Intent Bridge firsthand. Many attendees expressed surprise at how seamless it was to transact privately across chains, challenging their assumptions about privacy technology being complex or inaccessible.
These sessions continue to show that real adoption accelerates when people experience the tools directly, rather than just hearing about them.
3. Improving ZEC Accessibility in Nigeria – Pajcash On/Off-Ramp
Behind the scenes, I identified a key accessibility gap for ZEC in Nigeria and initiated conversations with Pajcash, a well-established on-ramp and off-ramp platform serving the local market.
As a result of these discussions, Pajcash has begun work on enabling direct ZEC on- and off-ramps to Nigerian Naira bank accounts. An MVP for this integration is currently in progress and represents a meaningful step toward improving real-world accessibility and everyday usability of ZEC in the region.
Micro-Meetup Report
Date: 24th January 2026

Community Growth & Engagement
This month also saw increased participation from community members previously onboarded through meetups and online sessions. These members are showing up more consistently in discussions, Spaces, and community activities, signaling healthy early-stage contributor engagement.
Challenges & Adjustments
Interest in meetups and onboarding sessions continues to grow. To accommodate more participants and expand reach, future sessions will need to scale beyond current formats. This will require additional logistical support to ensure quality and accessibility are maintained as attendance increases.
Next Month’s Plan
- Final coordination and preparation for the ZecHub contributor workshop scheduled tentatively for February 16–18, 2026.
- Hosting a larger onboarding and demonstration event to reach a broader audience
- Continued focus on education-driven adoption and hands-on exposure to Zcash tools.
The priority moving forward remains clear: making privacy technology feel approachable, usable, and relevant through direct experience.
Conclusion
January was about paying attention to the community and responding with intention.
From conversations around shielding ZEC to hands-on onboarding at the meetup, the focus stayed on helping people move from curiosity to real understanding and usage. The response to the shielding discussions showed there’s still a strong appetite for clear, practical education around Zcash.
Progress behind the scenes toward improving local access to ZEC also marks an important step in making privacy more usable day-to-day.
February will focus on building on this momentum through the upcoming workshop and broader onboarding efforts.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve the Zcash community and for the continued support from everyone.
