i am confused on how to mine
i used virtualbox for linux and mined for about an hour and got yet nothing. virtualbox does not also use the gpu… can anyone tell me how do I mine Zcash with a gpu. i have the 1080. please also tell me how do i recieve my coins…

Well, you need to setup a miner, I believe there are wallets now for Zcash available on Windows as well, so you don’t need need Linux to run your own node, but it is always safer anyway.
Once you have your wallet address, go to any ZEC pool and check out How to Get started or anything similar, they provide you with links and instructions on how to connect and setup your miner. For example, mining with Nvidia on flypool > http://zcash.flypool.org/ "Download, configure and run our modified nicehash CPU miner

Choose from the following stratum servers:
Europe: eu1-zcash.flypool.org:3333
US: us1-zcash.flypool.org:3333
China: cn1-zcash.flypool.org:3333
Asia: asia1-zcash.flypool.org:3333
Start your miner using the following command. User your Zcash address as username (can be a t or z address)
nheqminer.exe -cd 0 -l -u .

Yeah but how do I setup the mining and is it on windows or linux? if linux how do i use my gpu?
This is on Windows. Follow @zcashoinadaily instructions. You can create a wallet with Jaxx which will create a t address.
Jaxx wallet is also a Windows wallet. You can download it at jaxx.io.
i did that… getting about 26-28 sol/s now on my gpu. i edited the bat file and put my name as address and address as address. how do i recieve payout and shall i put my email?

How does your command look like?
the same one that is shown on the website page… i finally figured out how
to get my payouts… but i am still confused on checking whether i am using
cpu or gpu to mine…
on the start it shows that CPU thread 0, 1 , 2 are CPU-Xenocat and CPU
thread 3 is GPU gtx 1080
