He is making a rough
9.88 Zec a day on the rate his hashrate increasing
Probably using lower memory strips and overclocking.
With 1500 memory strips and 1045/1910 (you could overclock more but rx series likes to ‘hard crash’ if overclocked too much and i am too lazy to restart crashed remote rigs) clocks I get 104 for rx 470.
what about stability ? I keep having crashes with optiminer, but don’t know if it’s my cards or the miner.
Do others experience problems?
None here , 24 hours straight. (rx470)
How to run at system boot?
Using: 14.04
I can only start it manually in termial.
cronjob at boot does not work.
any ideas?
‘screen’ and /etc/rc.local.
thx, i ll try it! ![]()
Hmmm I seem to get to many “share submission failed” for one of my GPUs
I have rx 470 too.
What core clock do you use? if a go past 1130 it crashes the rig. under 1130 I keep having crashes every 2-3 hours. No crash at all with SAv5 at the same clocks
Sir Claymore:
"It seems I must be here all the time, as soon as I decide to take a break, something interesting happens ![]()
Ok, I did not check this new Linux miner, but it seems it’s faster than current version of my miner, at least in Linux.
So in a day I will release faster version."
oh even silentarmy is faster in windows if you have a good CPU too…
he does realize that marc was an engineer for GOOGLE?
who is really the smartest person working on a miner?
marc probably retired early and is just doing this for fun
the tennis game between miners reminds me of the tortoise and the hare…
the tortoise ends up winning. … btw…
1100 core and 1870 mem on a mix of elpida / hynix memory
ok, pretty low, that may explain your stability vs my @#^&~#@!
In the mean time I clocked down my memory, lets see when I wake up tomorow.
The truth is 'how much you can overclock heavely depend on card and miner.
For some of my rx470/480 cards it was nessesary to reduce core/memory clocks of zcash miners
by 50-100Mhz (relative to mining ethereum with claymore) to avoid crashes.
So what’s the fastest miner now? SA5 or Optiminer? My point is that the background of devs is kinda irrelevant.
Your opinion about Linux/SA vs Windows/Claymore is turning into an AMD vs NVIDIA fanboy fight it’s getting ridiculous. The fact is each release from SA/Claymore/Optiminer will improve the performance. As miners, we should use whatever gives the most profit. Claymore gave me a huge surge of profit for a few days before marc released his SA5. Then I switched to SA5, and now I’m using Optiminer. I don’t think using the lower performance miner is a rational decision.
Truth of the matter is you go where the speed is.
Can someone PM me please, to help install atitweak, aticonfig or AMDOverdriveCtrl.
I’m getting errors on Ubuntu.
Error while installing amdoverdrivectrl_1.2.7_amd64.deb:
Dependency is not satisflable:
libwxbase2.8-0
(>=2.8.10.1)
Or getting error when want to run atitweak:
OSError: libatiadlxx.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
when i first tested out SA5, it was the fastest miner… but why are you asking me this?
look i use both windows and linux, i prefer to use linux whenever I can becuase it is safer and more secure… that can not be debated. I use windows for what its better for, gaming and editing videos… I will use windows for mining as long as I am getting a better payback… I told people to use V4 AND PAY THE DEV FEE, that i thought it was not only worth it but better to pay the dev with than use -nofee 1… though once silentarmy came out it is no longer worth using claymore V4 unless you cant get your cards to work in ubuntu for some reason, some people have problems, maybe motherboard or GPU related im not sure… now that optiminer is out and working, i have to test it, it again might be worth paying a dev fee until silentarmy catches up.
both have their positives and negatives… windows and linux… if they didn’t I would not spend $5000 building myself gaming desktops for windows LOL…
windows users do, however, seem to be much more demanding than regular linux users… when all they need to do is install linux and use it for free - its not difficult… so one might have to question the ability of these users… do they actually know how to use a computer today? or is an android device and double click in windows all they know? could they even install windows? or can they just use it?
i have no problem with claymore’s miners, in fact I see each optimization as a good thing… the first miner was not an optimization however… though It is kind of funny that he states he will not release a faster miner because someone else released a faster miner… if he could release a faster miner on his own… why did he have to wait for someone else to release one? its just an observation and question.
i also have no problem with optiminer and I am about to test it out after I finish my SA Windows tests with Nvidia 980ti… i need to try one other driver with the fork branch of dagf2101 and then im testing out optiminer… the only reason why i have not tested optiminer was because i passed out and fell asleep last night… is that ok?
so whats the problem???
I would still, however, like to actually know the exact dev fee so I can give people the right informaiton about optiminer… I dont think the dev has to get upset that people want to know - i personally have no problem with whatever it is - as long as it pays off and does not damage hardware
did you use straight fglrx or used atitweak/aticonfig to adjust core, memory, voltage and power for 370ies?
