Has anybody using Windows actually got this working? Can you share the configuration files please

yup,i use and make bat file to start mining…
.this is my config,3x gpu (r7-360,2x r9-280x)
test one card -d is gpu(how many your gpu),-i is intensity
-d 0 is gpu1
-d 1 is gpu2
etc…

in Ubuntu - has anyone been successful in using the watchdog? I tried to add a reboot whenever watchdog is called (by default, 30 seconds after a miner has gone stale). I tried both with and without the “sudo” in the shutdown -r commands, and I’ve tried to run the miner.sh, both with and without a sudo as well. Nothing seems to happen in either case.

My 480’s (x6) 8Gb give me around 290 H/s each
940 watt measured at the wall
Totalling 1740-1750 H/s

Custom rom

Dear Optiminer dev,
I could buy a R9 Nano for 30% price more than another R9 390 Nitro.
Please, could you give an H/s comparison of them?

I use Ubuntu 16. I don’t know about custom rom in linux

You have to use Windows to flash the GPU rom, but then you can run it on linux just fine.

Just so you all can sleep on both ears.

The architecture of a 390 (hawaii) is completely different than for example a 380 or the RX series.

There is basically, in terms of speed not much you can do on a hawaii card when it comes to VBIOS mods.

However, you can significantly reduce power usage. But that means you’d have to add vddc voltage offset in the rom. There is no “tool” that does that.

So for anyone reading this. There is no such thing as a modified rom for 390’s that boosts your speed significantly.

Right, before i forget, there is however the possibility to “transform” your old reference 290’s into “390”'s, this on the other hand does boost your speed.

Iv noticed less hashes on my underclocked undervolted cards with optiminer… approx 60 sol/s less but im sure there can be an improvement considering claymore takes 2% im still up with claymore :slight_smile:

if i try --experimental-kernel 6 Sol/s before freezing. can’t kill process. had to reboot -f

oh, it never came back… had to power down first

Getting 295 - 300 S/s using 1.4.0, a BIOS mod, with just over 1100 Watts at the wall, for a 7 GPU rig (RX480 with 8GB Sapphire Nitro). Before the BIOS Mod I was running at 285 - 290 S/s on 1.3.2 and pulling 1430 Watts at the wall.

My XFX cards seem to do a little better than the Nitros with this BIOS mod at ~305 S/s.

As soon as there is an easy way to over clock the memory in Linux I will be interested in how high I can push these cards. However, for now, I am happy with a ~320Watt savings and slightly better performance.

v1.4 is giving me 427 Sols/s on my Nanos. My 6-GPU rigs are using 1315watts at the wall. V1.4 is about 8 sols/s per GPU faster - just under 2%. Now for the stability assessment …
