Can everyone just clam down? Please note, if others want to talk about X,Y,Z, that is ok… You’ve stated your opinion and can now move along. Life is too short to get worked up about these type of things.
OK dude you get the medal for being smarter than everyone.
I will just type in a single line in a terminal and I will get Silent Army miner installed for me on to an already optimized and automatic mining OS. I spent a small amount of time installing it months ago and someone else did all the work of keeping it updated for me. But you are definitely smarter than me.
OK, fair enough - I’ve finished this argument. I just thought that @cryptomined was being a bit agressive and insulting while he was accusing other people of all kinds of stuff. But you are right, that’s enough now.
I started to port SA v3 to Windows yesterday. You can find it here:
Note: it currently doesn’t work yet. The comms between the py script and the solver is polluted with non-ascii characters. Should be fairly straightforward to solve, but I find it frustrating so I’m not going to finish it .
As for taking on Claymore, either you need to develop your own GPL free base miner client (as I am doing now myself, hence closing the source) or you need a modern open source sgminer/cgminer that makes it easy to release GPU miners for new coins on, like the green camp is still successfully doing with ccminer. Once you have a solid base, releasing a new coin is much faster and if your product is known to be stable, people will flock to it.
My codebase is far from a solid base yet, as you’ve all experienced but as I already had a great deal lying around, I could release fairly quickly. For now, that seems to be the only way to scrape some of his profits. Or go private but for me personally that is not an option because I don’t consider myself a professional in this field.
With all due respect, but SA v3 is a python script that talks to another executable via a stdin/stdout pipe. This is not what Joe Miner wants. Perhaps the solver should be compiled into a dynamic library and the py script should be calling it and then cooked into a binary. I don’t know enough about Python to know if that’s possible, but I guess it is, right?
you want to see spam? i can go on to chinese QQ ZCash groups and show them what crapOS developers said and did… then they can deal with 1000 angry chinese spammers… you say Im agressive yet you are the one lying about what I did… i did nothing wrong… no spamming what-so-ever and you push their lies back on to me… like a slave goon doing their bidding!!!
if you thought i was aggressive you should have seen how they insulted me, banned me, followed me to PiMPOS IRC Channel, insulted the PiMP developers than followed me here! Thats was STALKING! THAT IS AGGRESSIVE! losers!
I have the same issue.
After installing the amdgpu pro drivers and rebooting i get stuck in a login loop.
So i took a crack at .Xauthority file (reseting it) and at the lightdm config (auto-login=username) files but they both didnt solve the problem. I tried digging around in the ubuntu forums for an answer but to no avail… everything I have tried until now hasn’t gotten me out of the login loop.
I even used a fresh HD with a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04…
I would be super grateful if you could describe exactly what you did to “put the config file back in place”.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Hey @cryptomined, there’s also zogOS coming as far as I know. I think those guys are pretty hard working dudes and give a lot to the community.
I’ve been trying every Linux miner out there, zogminer was pretty good until the new silentarmy came out. From the numbers I’ve seen and the one’s I’m getting on a RX 470 and a RX 480 they’re the same as Claymore’s.
My guess is zogOS will do better than ethOS or at least compete with them at a good enough level.
yes I have a lot of good things to say about nathan, omar and Age. and I recommend donations to them, and I sent in donations for a good 1/2 a day on one of my GPUs
I am looking forward to ZogOS, at 1 ETH I think it will be a good deal if its stable and works well.
the 1 ETH is more like a donation and its not asking too much
FYI, auto restart on GPU fail still fails to restart miner, miner hangs (was doing this in windows yesterday also, so I guess he has not fixed that bug… if he fixed bugs guess hte V1 must have been very buggy
im not using fan control now didnt think in needed it to be honest.
doesnt that addon just allow you to set a general fan speed? you cant set a curve based on temps can you?
someone posted it in one of my vids, but I havent tried it yet
Installed SA3 on Ubuntu 15.10 machine using writeup plus nkoo1 script.
Stable overnight. On unmodded r9 380 27sols/s at the pool.
plus about 6-7 sols on 2 threads of 4 thread CPU using nheqminer_cpu
if only price would finally stabilize, i would probably move my ubuntu eth rigs to zec.
