I don’t have issues with Ubuntu or anything like that however I don’t switch because like most veteran litecoin miners most of my hardware is Pitcairn and Tahiti (7850, 270x, 7950, 7970, 280x, etc) Most of those GPUs are slow with SA3. Unless Tahiti’s have been able to get 50Sol/s yet?
Another issue is with the AMDGPU-PRO drivers, many of my rigs have 5x RX470 with 1x of an old 7850 or 7950 due to the screen display issue where the card disables itself when its headless. Its not possible to run a 470 with a 7850 on linux at the moment. But its possible in Windows.
so what does that tell you? what is your opinion?
he removed the miners so obviously he was in the wrong, but do you think there is more of marc’s code we do not know about?
like hotmetal, im not an expert or programmer, but I think we all feel more was copied
He owned up and is taking the code out of his miner, said he was in a hurry to release miner and overlooked that he’d left the bllake in his code. For perspective, he was in a hurry. Seems like the involved parties have come to a resolution, let it go.
Obviously Marc published his code way before Claymore, plus Claymore acknowledged that he took it from him.
The issue here is that Claymore makes money from the miner. How would you feel if someone took your work to make money from it ?
I am not a programmer but I know how to copy/paste and add a fee. Too easy, not fair.
People hate thieves. Thieves who charge you 2.5% to use someone else’s work.
Doesn’t matter if its resolved or not between themselves, we still dislike liars and thieves.
Saw a conversation between the original guy that wrote the code and claymore posted on BCT forum. The two involved parties have resolved it - you have a need to be involved in drama? What is your stake in this to be so concerned about some guy using some other guy’s code without credit? (neither of them being you)
obsessing? you mean we can’t even talk about it without you trying to insult us?
who are you OBAMA? if we want to talk, we can talk. don’t attempt to censor with your belittling
if you dont want to talk about it then dont, but dont tell me what I should say
I will say what I want, when I want… if you like it or not.
the only douche today is claymore
and he had no choice but to admit to it, he was CAUGHT RED HANDED
he should send it back to the miners, thats my opinion and im allowed to have an opinion
no one should be using V1 or V1.1 and giving him fees through those releases.
people on bitcoin talk agree
"I think it would be best to both parties and to all miners if this would just be for free. Without the dev fees.
Please
remove the dev fees in your zcash miner @Claymore. Just let it be for
the public and all of us miners will appreciate you more and I think @mrb would have no objection to that.
Please remove the dev fees. Just this once.
Thank you."
I have trouble with AMDGPU-PRO on my fresh installed Xubuntu 16.04. Installation works well and kernel module gets compiled. But after reboot, the kernel does not validate the signature.
I wrote in Ubuntu forums and AMD forums, but they refuse to even read my posts.
Do you guys have an idea what to do?
Compiling a kernel with disabled signature verification fails for me. Did try different versions of the kernel. 4.4.0-45 was mentioned to work with the driver, but by Xubuntu 16.04 freezes at the login screen with this kernel. grr
Oh and Windows 10 fails to run my 6 GPUs (Sapphire Radeon RX 470 Nitro+ 4GB). It comes up with Code 43 on 2 cards. Sometimes even 4 or 5 cards. It can’t decide what to do…
