Miner- SILENTARMY v5

hey first of good comeback  ( nice timing)
now im not talented enough to code something like this (yet) but you miner make me think of what i had has idea ever taught of using gominer (bl2b sia) and the str4d POW solver (python) i think the solver would fit your
“”
Note: the code is currently very poorly optimized; it makes zero attempts to
keep the queue of OpenCL commands full, therefore one needs to run 2 instances
of SILENTARMY in parallel on the same GPU to keep it well utilized.“”

What inspired the name “Silent Army”?
does it take inspiration from the teracota warriors? a book? religion/spirituality? Anonymous?

If you were to attach one catch phrase to “SILENT ARMY” what would it be?
“Silence is our strength”?

If you were to attach one image, what would it be?
Thanks

Nothing? LOADS of people bought hash from them - they probably made a shitton.

Absolutely, but 20/20 hindsight they could have sold their miner for more than $0 had they not asked for $150k+

Hm, compiles well and runs, but it gives out
clEnqueueReadBuffer (-5)
And nothing else happens.
Tried tweaking parameters to no effect.
GTX 760 here.

Any help?

It does not work on NVIDIA’s. I am also trying that and getting same issue as you are. Maybe some OpenCL experts can comment.

Additionally, it looks like queue gets invalidated after round 2 kernel call. Also pfn_notify does not get called.

-5 is an error code for out of resources. This solver is quite sophistcated and will probably cause some issue on some drivers and cards.

It’s opencl so it will run on NVIDIA. It is optimized for AMD however so your cards will not be happy with the way memory is allocated and worked on. So it will run, but probably not very well.

Anyone having luck running the Tahiti line of AMD cards 7950/ 280? I get 0sols

And had they sold it instead of offering cloud mining, they would have probably made less.

This one works with old cards series like HD58xx?

Speaking of HD5870, i get a list of crap starting with
LLVM ERROR: Cannot select: 0x111d890: i32,ch = AtomicLoadAdd<Volatile LDST4[%1966(addrspace=1)]> 0x111ef20, 0x17717f0, Constant:i32<1>
When i try to run on it.

And my R9 280X from the “dead” bin turned up to be dead…

Thanks for clarification. Was banging my head against wall trying to do NVIDIA test on it  So it is probably not worth it then…

You saved me from installing a lot of linux. thanks!

i guess we know who your working for LOL
though you can trust the brothers more than Genesis mining… those POS spam their coupon crap everywhere… imagine how much they pay people to spam… its disgusting

this is what i get when i first start the miner:
madPrimeMiner-v1.1

found platform[0] name = ‘AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing’

I get this first error over and over again multiple times
“C:\Users\RIG\AppData\Local\Temp\OCL5EE.tmp.cl”, line 16: warning: variable
** lotMask" was declared but never referenced
const uint32_t slotMask = ((1u<<SLOTBITS)-1);

And then this error:
Error compiling program for digitK.
Frontend phase failed compilation.
Error: Creating kernel digitK failed!

and then it force closes.
any info? Certain drivers? I left the config as is for now until I can get it running and then I can optimize. I have 2 radeon HD 6970’s. Windows 10 i7 6700 pcu

True. But they could have done both. But I guess it makes more sense to pick one and stick with it.

How much system memory would you recommend for a 4 x RX470 rig ?

if your not going to CPU mine, 4G should be more than enough i think

ok i try when you would post your video, thanks again for your help and share your knowledge :clin d’œil: :+1:

Thanks for the reply and for your overall contribution cryptomined. Judging by your tests, 470 sounds like optimal choice?
