I’am not sure here. Unfortunatly we are not in a static position to notice the effect of the Ycash fork. It’s absolutly possible that for example without the Ycash fork and the effect of 1:1 conversation Zcsh could be 0.5% more down. Pure speculation of course, but a possibility.
Than again, let’s be honest, what effect did you await from Ycash? It’s right now just a copy&paste product with some without any own targets expect the funding & mining attribute. There is no indicator like a good development team, innovative ideas, game changers, just anything. Hence i don’t see a real reason why there should be a bigger interest for a ZEC holder to get Ycash other than just make some fast bonus buck, no matter if it’s US5 or US$100 out of $10.000 ZEC holdings.
And let’s not forget, EVEN if there would be demand for Zcash due the Ycash fork, it would only last until the snapshoot and most people sell off and take the profit. At least that’s how most airdrop scenarios work and i don’t see a single reason why this shouldn’t work the same way.
Just in case there was and will be a little increase in Zcash price until the fork which mostly we won’t even notice, than there is a good chance we may fall after the fork a bit more as we do right now.
Just my opinion of course, as always, i might be totally wrong with my analysis.

Once BTC drops below 9k, I think we are in buying season again before the radical moon we’ve been waiting for. If I can, I’ll be picking up some more ZEC and BTC then.
I’m going to wait for the ‘kek indicator’ - when he starts getting really grumpy its a good time to buy.

Save zec, suspend mining. Check. (I’d use a word beginning with “k” in reference to the miners, but zec is a friendly place.)
What is “Ycash”? Why? I expect the floor for Zcash to be quite a bit lower than it is now, fwiw. I still don’t see it being used as a POS option. Until or unless that happens, “mooning” will be far out in the future…

Glad youre back man, Ycash is Howard Loo’s chain fork project set to launch mainnet in about 4 days equihash 192 7, whatever zcash you possess at the time of the fork you can claim equal Ycash with the private keys, theres all sorts of topics around on it

also, i kinda thought this would happen… honestly thought we got rid of most the weak hands, so, didn’t think we’d dump this far. i did become a bagholder @ $74 area, but i’m averaged down to a better position now. imo, should accumulate as-much-as possible before october’s leg-up.

pretty much everything bought in this range will be held until we hit around $166. $166 i’ll probably reevaluate my position, but my gut tells me it’ll be okay to ride the train to the $300 range. unless zcash gets some news; i expect our ZEC markets to not be super active until october.

for tax reasons my favorite way to trade is in 1 year increments. being said, the slickest trade in history is buying ZEC 1-2 months before october 2019. that way you’ll be able to sell zcash 1-2 months before halving, and pay considerably lower tax on longterm gains.

…been lurking at times…does this mean ycash is GPU minable? Not that it matters to me, however…I dumped my farm last year about a month after the ASIC nonsense.
I’m not sure what value a fork brings to the table…haha…other than for eating! Other than a money grab for the creators - which is the true purpose of any form in my opinion - what more does this ycash do? Are the big exchanges going to list it? Can Suzie Soccer Mom buy yoga pants with it on her iphone? Likely no…she can’t even do that with ZCash…
…I’m still wondering why that’s the present case with ZEC usage in that even now it still has no real commercial use for any point of sale/e-commerce transactions, that being a real failure. Does this ycash fork have any plan for that?
@revo5 - govs hate crypto and hate privacy even more, likely you know this. Any time govs, especially the american one, start talking about “protecting” the people from crime, drugs, kids…bla bla…get ready to lose some rights. Since they know they can’t control crypto they want to kill it or make it so hard to use people never use it save for those like us.

Oh but there is a point of sale app now, and Susie can buy yoga pants without a node on her noncustodial lite wallet, at launch ycash will be identical to zcash whether or not those devs upgrade said apps to support is up to them
The purpose is electric money with the same properties as cash (you know that)
Criminal use isnt even considered, those people suck and use all kinds of good stuff for their nefarious purposes, privacy is a right so long as you dont intentionally waive it
