whats the wattage if its the same thats a huge improvement
@cryptomined What are your settings for the RX 580? Which drivers are you using to get over 310? Thanks
I am not sure about the wattage. GPUZ fluctuates between 150-200. Why do you think that it is a huge improvement? It is less than a rx480
Yes thatās disappointing speeds,I have same cards but 480 and do 320h/s on stock settings,580 have faster clocks so your def under performing
Hi Sorry for the late reply, havent been on hjere for a while,⦠i was using 17.4.3
in that vid i didnt do anything to the cards in the hashrate video, just ran them as is, stock. I will try with drivers 17.5.1 tomorrow as its said by AMD to give the 580 an 8% performance boost - so im curious, does that carry over to zcash mining? if so ill make a vid of it.
Iām currently running 2 RX 570ās in 2 different machines. Iāve left them entirely stock and Iām seeing an average of 275-280 each. Power usage for power bounces between 100-110. Iām actually very happy with them at the moment. I havenāt done any tweaking yet.
2 x Gigabyte RX 570 Gaming 4G
Yes, I dont think you really need any bios mod to mine zcash with them, and I will probably change this entire rig over to zcash so I dont have to patch the drivers. maybe ill do that tomorrow, ⦠right now its mining eth⦠but actually i need more ZEC hashpower⦠and right now i kinda have a mild headache so i canāt sleep again⦠so⦠yeah⦠i tihnk tomorrow ill just flash them back to stock and put them on zec
Iāve recently noticed that the Sol/Watt isnāt great for these RX cards (stock). My 4-card rig was right around 1.3 Sol/Watt. Iāve since moved to 1080 Ti cards which are more expensive but are better than 2 RX cards put together (while freeing up some risers) and have a lower power usage per Sol. My 1080s are giving me 2-3 Sol/Watt after the change.
Maximizing Sols per riser while taking watts into account seems to suggest that higher-end cards are going to give better results.
As far as the RX 500 series, for mining purposes they seem to just be slightly overclicked 470/480 cards with greater energy usage for that sight speed increase. Seems like a sketchy rebrand.
yup, i think even the lower end nvidia cards give much better sol/watt
rx series is so much cheaper, might get a faster breakeven though, even if paying more for electricity, but all depends on electric costs i suppose
Crap. Wish I had seen this when you made it. I spent 2 1/2 days thinking I was an idiot and getting crazier and crazier. Windows kept destroying itself everytime I put the fifth RX570 on. I finally found the bitcointalk thread and realized it wasnāt me . I didnāt quite understand reading what you just showed so I blew windows up again. At any rate I said FUCK WINDOWS. I updated my running ethOS rig to ethOS 1.2.2, made a copy and got the 6 new cards on Z170a up in about 20 minutes.
ethOS was what I started mining with. Now it might be time to get everything back there.

Thanks for all of the great videos!
By any chance, are these the Radeon RX 570 Gigabyte cards you are running?
Yes. Those are the ones ![]()
At stock settings they were hashing without drawing that much power?
Oddly, theyāre not anymore. Theyāre sitting between 115-120 now. When I made the original statement, they were 100-110. I havenāt changed anything aside from updating drivers and miners as theyāve been released (I think 2 driver version since then and 1 version miner).
Hmmmā¦
My Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ LE gets ~315 for ZCash using ethOS.
I have RX 580 8Gb and get only 217 H/s
I read here that some people have 300 and more.
What can be wrong I use lates driver from AMD
Helpful. I bought a rig 3 weeks ago. It has 8 580 8G. Iāve been mining Eth but want to mine Zcash. OS is ethos. Cryptocompare says it is more profitable. Should I use claymore or zcash-miner
