Your internet connection should not have any effect on your mining speed. It is transferring literally the tiniest amount of data, just hashes which are so minute. Your speed is based solely off of your hardware.
Do you know if we can use ANY gpu to mine or does it have to be high end? Iv got an amd v5800 that i want to utilise…
I have not seen any older cards that are able to mine. Only 16.40 drivers or newer. My 2 HD6970s cant mine with these miners. too old. 15.12 drivers.
@ocminer you might want to stop accepting new miners.
Say a little more, please. I’ve been an Apple user since 1984. Just bought this system to 1) learn the linux world; 2) work with a PC; 3) try to earn a little ZEC on the side. (I’m heavily invested in BTC.) Just have an onboard GPU currently, but happy to invest in a good GPU if it’s worth it. I can’t fail because I’m learning. Worked with commandline terminal for first time in my life and actually set up mining. Kudos to me. If it’s not profitable (even with good GPU), my wife inherits a killa system for WOW. (She’s hoping I fail ![]()
Thanks for that useful little tidbit.
Yous shouldn’t be bottlenecked with 8GB RAM. I have 32GB, but my specs say my utilization is only 5.6 - 6.2 / 32. Not running anything else. If your machine is dedicated and not running other stuff, I think you’re probably fine. (I’m on Linux if that matters.)
I’m running win 10 and I’m tapping out my Ram. I’m using the less than 4 GB I have available to use. I have over 4GB of standby that reduces my resources. I’m not sure why there is so much standby but another stick really ought to open things up.
@ocminer Do you have an ETH pool I can mine some Radeon GPUs to? I can’t use them on ZEC right now so I want to put them to use somewhere.
I just found this on another thread!! How fast could you implement this into your miner??? I really want to put my GPUs to use!!!
“I released SILENTARMY v2 which now supports GCN 1st gen GPU. In fact all AMD GPUs should in theory be supported, but keep in mind I still have done zero testing on TeraScale (pre-GCN) AMD GPUs. See: I would be interested if people with Nvidia GPUs could test SILENTARMY now. There is a chance my fixes help with a separate Nvidia issue: “clEnqueueReadBuffer (-5)”, see No Nvidia support: errors out with clEnqueueReadBuffer (-5) with both CUDA 7.5 libs and system libs · Issue #6 · mbevand/silentarmy · GitHub”
try creating 2 .bats files. one with -t 6 and the other with -cd 0 and execute 2 instances.
You could create 2 different workers to see how they are doing…
Regards
@ocminer does Supernova have an API to create new workers and check hashrate etc?
https://zec.suprnova.cc/index.php?page=account&action=qrcode
Use this code to import the full API string into the PoolWatch mobile application - you can monitor your Poolstats from your mobile !
Regards
Thanks for the info… Though what I need it for is using curl to dynamically create workers with my deployment script.
Im glad I can monitor the hashrate from the json… That’s useful
I am sharing the exact same config among workers now.
E.g. Absturz.1, Absturz.1, Absturz.1…
As mentioned I don’t want to configure each worker. This setup does seem to work.
If I mine without an wallet adress, are my precious ZECs safe on suprnova’s inner balance?
@ocminer I have message you my account, please unlock my account, more than one day
Sorry too many mails currently
I’ve unlocked your account
Yes, you can mine even without address and leave the coins on the pool for a while
Ocminer please compile new nheqminer from nicehash for windows
