Trying to move ZEC from Ledger Live

Just wanted to share my experience with Ledger as well. I stored ZEC on the first Ledger Nano S device (bought 2016 or 2017, don’t remember exactly when).

After the latest app/firmware update I was finally able to withdraw ZEC from this device. However, I must note that I have never tried to send funds to shielded addresses with the Ledger. All transactions I have made with the Ledger have been transparent. So this should also work for others. The situation may be different if you have interacted with shielded addresses.

What bothered me was that the old Ledger Model Nano S display became very difficult to read over time. It is almost unusable due to the poor readability of the dark display. This is apparently a known issue with the quality of the device. Newer Ledger models do not seem to have this problem.

Hi! there is big issue right now. I’m having trouble sending native ZEC from my Ledger to MEXC.

I have the latest Ledger firmware, the latest Ledger Wallet/Ledger Live, and the latest Zcash app installed.

When I try to send ZEC from Ledger Wallet to my ZEC deposit address on MEXC, I get the following error:

**transaction uses an incorrect consensus branch id (-25)

I contacted ledger support and this is what they told me:** your crypto is still on the Zcash blockchain and under your control. The problem is a technical one: after the Zcash network upgrade (NU6.3/Ironwood), the Ledger Nano S Plus and current Zcash app cannot create transactions compatible with the new network rules. This means you cannot send ZEC from your device until Ledger updates the Zcash app and/or Ledger Wallet to support the new protocol.

Unfortunately, there is no published timeline for when this update will be released. Ledger recommends keeping your device and Ledger Wallet updated so you get access as soon as support is restored. You never lose ownership of your crypto; it remains on the blockchain, accessible when the app is updated.

What we do? Any ideas? This sounds like a fraud to me

just one idea. have you looked for the Ledger Live app update from their website? 4.19.0 seems to be latest

cause ive heard there was a bug where Ledger Live didnt automatically update or find any updates to their app itself. that might be something thats happening to you.

Ledger recommends using Zkool at this time.
