ZecWallet mobile not working

How do you add new addresses in Zingo or nighthawk wallet?

Rhetorical question I assume.

You should really go to work for ECC to make Ywallet the core Zcash wallet.

Also, added Ycash to: Zcash Wallets - Zcash Community

Zecwallet lite cli will allow for setting the server as a flag, tried not too long ago and it worked though I didn’t attempt importing a --seed (should work) GitHub - adityapk00/zecwallet-light-cli: Zecwallet Lightclient Library and CLI interface
Then you can sync and send out to a new wallet.
Cli probably uses the same data source so you may not even need to reimport the seed.

Ywallet will restore transparent keys but to my understanding (and correct me if I’m wrong), it will not import transparent addresses from zwl seed back ups (Or is that because of the derivation path?)

It was a serious question. I assumed it was possible since you recommended it as a replacement for zecwallet lite.

I had assumed that since Zingo is built on Zecwallet lite they would be compatible, but I have not done testing myself to verify.

Hi
About a year ago Zcash wallet lite stopped working, when I changed wallet I noticed that I was missing Zcash, looking in the movements I found this one in which 0 Zcash are moved but the fee is 6.22 Zcash. Does anyone know why this happened? Is it reversible?

Many thanks in advance

@bezelai I’m not sure about that block explorer, but if you look at:

https://zcashblockexplorer.com/transactions/689ac3a532ea022cf8cd0de893e33807c4152d357700d8d1935b32efdd9d3a32

It looks like a bunch of small transparent transactions were sent to a shielded address. The funds should still be sitting in the shielded address unless you sent it elsewhere afterwards.

I think you should be able to restore your Zcash with newer wallet like Ywallet using your seed phrase, or private keys. @Autotunafish may know the best method.

@bezelai Sounds like these are subsequently generated addresses that you will need to recreate or import individually. Check out the subacount, custom derivation and key tool docs in the Ywallet help section.

@Shawn that other blockexplorer looks ok. ZWL generated keys differently than Ywallet does. ZWL allowed (as normal) to create subsequent spending keys, beyond your default 3, under the same seed. Restoring the seed does not automatically restore any subsequently generated addresses and they need to be re-created.
I mentioned elsewhere that scanning methods will hopefully begin to take this into consideration but its not quite how it is today.

@bezelai There are a number of ways to attack the problem, but it depends on your current situation and capabilities.
If the funds were contained in legacy, sapling or transparent addresses then like said, you can just import the keys. Whether or not you can still access the keys depends usually on if you were running it on desktop Linux. In which case you can run the cli with a functioning server and the wallet will work like it used to. Easiest at that point to send your funds out to a new wallet.
Many users did not back up the keys, only backed up the seed. The above zwl cli option could technically work by importing the seed, restoring the addresses like before, waiting for it to sync, and send out, IF you met the linux OS requirements. Otherwise e.g. just have a phone, you will require Ywallet and some restore method. If you have the legacy sapling or transparent key, you can import it. If you don’t, or its orchard (orchard ua’'s themselves do not have associated priv keys) then you need to check out the sub account options and derivation path docs. Usually, the subaccount option will work by itself for shielded funds. If you had transparent funds, similarly as with importing a ledger key, it likely requires tweaking.

Thanks for your answers
I don’t really understand what to do, I have my Zec Wallet Lite still installed on Linux but I always get the following error “Error Initializing Lightclient
Error: internal error in Neon module: Couldn’t get network”. In that same screen I can change the server “LightwalletD server” but I don’t know any valid one and I haven’t found it either.
Is there a valid one?

The problem is that I made several changes first I changed from Coinomi to Zec Wallet Lite and then I recovered my wallet in Ywallet and I am not clear in which step this happened to me.

These are local lightwalletd servers that you can try

I am trying to use seed to restore a 2020 wallet on the Zecwallet lite desktop, I hope it will work eventually.

I use this server, but it seems Zecwallet lite can not sync properly. There are no transactions, no coins, and the block height is stuck at 1025921. Are there other approaches that can restore a Zeclite wallet?

emmm…Is it a phishing link?

CAUTION. It’s A PHSIHING LINK

ZecWallet Lite is not supported anymore. You should try Ywallet, Zashi, or Zingo

Sync speed of ZWL typically bogs down around that height, you should check the CPU to see if it’s still going and just not updating
Like Conrado says, not supported anymore and since the mempool attack, making transactions from it is not probable.
