Backup from phrase

Hi, I am quite new to mining, and have had a problem with my PC, and have had to restore to factory state. I save all my pass phrase and other important bits but not the .dat file. How do I restore with just the basic info? Any help would be great, I have around $50 in there not loads but enough to want to retrieve !
Thanks

Which wallet were you using before? Zecwallet FullNode or Zecwallet Lite?

If you were using Zecwallet FullNode and you have the private keys, you can import them again on the restored machine.

If you were using Zecwallet Lite, you just need to enter the seed.

Hi @cmechen2278

You will need more details so we can help you.

What wallet did you have before, lite client or full node?

What “phrase” do you have? Is it a 12 word phrase or private keys?

Lol @anon16456014 I was just asking the exact same thing at the same time

Hi Shawn, thanks for the reply. I have the phrase and address just not the .dat file. I will save this file next time for sure. I try to run a full node, trying to support the network, and is no problem now my PC is clean.
Can this be done using the 12-word phrase/ private key( t1LLrwvyhX1rRHjXtGNrHF7Ny6zkiWUTF3p I hope this is the private key)
Or a combination of both?
Thanks for your support
Chris

The link you posted is the public address, not the private key that controls that address.

Never post the private keys or seed phrase in the public BTW

So I’m still not sure what you have, what wallet were you using before? ZecWallet? Zcashd on Linux? WinZec (very old) ?

This is important info because not all full nodes support seed phrases.

Zecwallet full node, the yellow and black one that takes 2 days to sync, and a 12-word seed phrase. and the wallet address.
I will not post anything usually, but if I cannot retrieve it it is no problem. When up and running, I will make a backup copy first thing this time!
Thanks Shawn!
