Zcash Ambassador Monthly Report
Reporting Period: June 2026
Ambassador: Elzz
Introduction & Monthly Summary
In June, I focused on strengthening contributor onboarding while using key ecosystem developments as opportunities for public education.
This month was anchored by the 3-Day Contributors Workshop, which provided structured learning pathways for both new and aspiring contributors, helping participants better understand Zcash, its technology, and the different ways they can get involved in the ecosystem.
Alongside the workshop, I continued simplifying important ecosystem updates into accessible educational content, helping the community better understand topics such as the shielded pool transition and the proposed Ironwood pool. The focus this month was on reducing barriers to participation through structured education, clear communication, and practical onboarding.
Content, Visibility and Community Education
My content this month centered on two priorities: documenting the Contributors Workshop and using major ecosystem developments as opportunities for public education.

Key Initiative
1. 3-Day Zcash Contributors Workshop
June was anchored by the successful execution of the second 3-Day Zcash Contributors Workshop, designed to provide new contributors with a structured introduction to financial privacy, Zcash, and the different ways they can participate in the ecosystem.
Building on lessons from the first workshop held in February, this iteration placed greater emphasis on helping participants understand not only what Zcash is, but why it exists and how different skills can contribute to its growth.
As workshop facilitator, I coordinated and moderated all three days while bringing together ecosystem contributors to teach across different areas of expertise.
2. Workshop Structure
Day 1 — Foundations
Session 1: Why Financial Privacy Matters — @elzz-ux
Session 2: Introduction to Zcash & Zcash History — @squirrel
The first day focused on building a strong foundation around financial privacy, the problems Zcash was created to solve, and the history and philosophy behind the project.
Day 2 — Understanding the Technology
Session 1: How Zcash Works: zk-SNARKs — @speedfox
Session 2: The Zcash Ecosystem & Culture Teams — @dismad
The second day introduced participants to the technology powering Zcash while also providing a broader view of the organizations, teams, and contributors working across the ecosystem.
Day 3 — Contribution Pathways
Session 1: Graphics Design — @theKroy
Session 2: Video Creation — @Omegaonchain
Session 3: Writing & Research — @elzz-ux
The final day shifted from education to participation, helping attendees understand how their individual skills could translate into meaningful contributions within the Zcash ecosystem.
3. Key Outcomes
Total registrations: 42
Average daily attendance: 31 participants
New participants to Zcash ecosystem: ~20
Task completions:14 participants
Beyond task completion, the workshop has already begun translating into meaningful ecosystem participation. Several attendees have continued engaging with the Zcash ecosystem following the workshop, with participants such as Gilmore, Vancube, and Jeff already contributing through ZecHub bounties. This reinforces the value of structured onboarding in helping interested community members take their first steps toward meaningful participation.
4. Community & Ecosystem Impact
The workshop reinforced that structured, guided onboarding remains an effective way to lower barriers to participation within the Zcash ecosystem.
Rather than relying solely on documentation or self-directed learning, participants were able to engage directly with experienced contributors, ask questions in real time, and leave with a clearer understanding of both the technology and the different ways they can get involved.
The early participation seen after the workshop suggests that combining education with clear next steps continues to be an effective model for activating new contributors.
5. Operational Execution
Delivering the workshop required coordinating facilitators across three consecutive days, preparing educational materials, moderating every session, and ensuring participants remained engaged throughout the program.
The collaborative format also allowed participants to hear directly from contributors with expertise across education, research, design, video production, and protocol development, giving them a broader understanding of how different disciplines support the Zcash ecosystem.
6. Areas for Refinement
While participation remained strong throughout the workshop, future iterations will place greater emphasis on post-workshop follow-up and continued engagement to help more participants transition from learning about the ecosystem to making sustained contributions over time.
7. Acknowledgements
Special thanks to @ZecHub for continued support in amplifying and backing contributor-focused initiatives.
I appreciate @squirrel , @speedfox , @dismad , @theKroy , @OmegaOnChain ,for facilitating sessions and sharing their expertise across privacy, Zcash and creative pathways in the ecosystem.
Many thanks to @Vito for helping to record the sessions.
Leveraging Ecosystem Updates as Educational Moments
This month also provided opportunities to educate the community through key ecosystem developments.
Following the disclosure and resolution of the shielded pool vulnerability, I published educational content explaining the update, how shielded pools work, and the purpose of the proposed Ironwood pool, helping make a technical topic more accessible to the broader community.
These updates continued my focus on turning important ecosystem developments into clear, practical educational content.
Challenges & Adjustments
This month reinforced the importance of timely, educational communication during protocol developments.
Moments of uncertainty often create opportunities for misinformation. Providing clear, accessible explanations helped keep conversations focused on understanding the issue, the proposed solution, and the continued importance of financial privacy.
Next Steps
Continue building on the momentum from the June Contributors Workshop by supporting newly onboarded participants as they become active contributors within the Zcash ecosystem.
Maintain educational content that simplifies important ecosystem updates and protocol developments into accessible explanations.
Continue identifying teachable moments that help new audiences better understand financial privacy and Zcash.
Expand ecosystem visibility through strategic participation in community events and onboarding opportunities.
Conclusion
June reinforced the importance of pairing structured onboarding with timely, accessible education.
The Contributors Workshop demonstrated the value of creating clear pathways into the ecosystem, while educational content around major protocol developments helped make complex topics more approachable for both existing community members and newcomers.
Going forward, my focus remains on helping more people understand Zcash, participate in its ecosystem, and build the confidence to contribute in meaningful ways.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve the Zcash community and the continued support from everyone.
