Can you elaborate a little bit on how they are shielding it, and what that means as far as security? I am mining to fly pool using genoil miner.
On a sidenote, today an extra t address was added somehow to my account with just a lil zcash in it. Any idea how that might’ve happened? Using zcash2win
the extra address would be an autogenerated t-address, when you send t-address to t-address txns it’ll autocreate those (which is why a fresh backup of wallet.dat from time to time is good).
The shielding is the zksnark construction that is what makes zcash special in the first place. for general info on that just…browse around the z.cash website?
Thanks for all the good info. I am getting excited about zcash! Now I want to hook up a second machine and maybe a third! What is the smoothest way to do this as far as ease and security? Can I mine to the same T address on all machines using flypool, and then transfer to a z address every few days? If so, what must I do to set it up?
yeah you can do that…I think that flypool is already running your mining rewards through a zaddr before sending them to you, aren’t they? I thought most pools were
Yes. I just select a different workers and it worked great. Do you have any idea what the immature balance is? I couldn’t find any information on that anywhere. And thanks again for all the great support and the great product. Do you know if it works well on the Mac? Would be great to have a non-mining computer to do my transactions through
yes, zcash4mac exists…my version packaged in a dmg is at https://zcash4mac.com but it needs an update (old version of zcashd).
@kozyilmaz has newer builds of the command line for mac that work great (I run one myself!) and the Swing GUI from @vaklinov works great
Any idea about what immature balance is?
do you know where I can find the command line for mac and the swing gui? I am afraid I don’t know enough about the command line prompt to operate it confidently. Will you be updating the dmg anytime soon? The pc version works so well.
