URGENT zcash4win update

I meant to have a new release of zcash4win out a while ago, and was (and still am going to) change the name, but have been delayed by illness!

Version 1.0.11 is entering auto-deprecation some time tomorrow when the block height for it gets hit, and I released version 1.0.12 of zcash4win earlier today on https://zcash4win.com

Just go into Add/Remove Programs, uninstall zcash4win, then double click the msi file for 1.0.12 to install the new release

In addition to bumping the zcash version to 1.0.12, it also flips the block explorer it uses to be https://zcashnetwork.info which shows unconfirmed transactions

Also for command line only Windows users, the zipfile for stand alone command line zcash for windows version 1.0.12 is now at https://zcash.dl.mercerweiss.com/zcash-win-v1.0.12.zip

Cheers and sorry again for the delay!

Awesome, didn’t even have to import the backup or redownload the chain. :grinning: If your smart screen blocks it, just click more info, then click run anyways

Get Well soon @anon47418038

Any chance we can change the location our blockchain files are saved to? I have a smallish ssd for C: drive but a large empty tb drive for large files.

I second that, but not only for blockchain files, also for key files or the whole installation.
We could in this way have this files on an secondary and slow inline HDD, encrypt it with BitLocker and let it locked (not decrypted) when not in use in order to have maximum security.

Anyway, thanks @anon47418038 for your great job.

Is installing the new version really as easy as uninstalling the old program and then installing the new one? Do I have to do anything special with my private key or my wallet.dat file?

If the old installer package is still in your downloads, it’ll say, please excuse the poor photo

Edit- also in the wallet UI -click main, about

Hopefully one day you will include automatic encrypted backups to an external drive for the wallet.dat file

Hello radix42, I sent 2.5 ZEC from a fully trusted exchange site (have never ever had any issues with them before in any coin transactions) at 20th of dec 22:50 central European time, to my wallet to my address t1LCEnAtw7dySCA9P5uCwhgmDcWQFjoZQDh but it never got transferred according to: http://zcashnetwork.info/address/t1LCEnAtw7dySCA9P5uCwhgmDcWQFjoZQDh
At the transaction moment I had the Win 1.0.11 pc wallet. Couldn’t then start the wallet and after installing the new Win pc wallet 1.0.12 I have not received my 2.5 ZEC! This is ALOT money. Where is this cash?
