If you have the skills to develop a miner keep me informed I will be happy to test on my rx 480 and furys
Why so much controversy? Who likes optiminer, who uses this, who does not agree with the commission of the developer, do not use it, easy no?
For Nvidia nothing yet?
Claymore
Upfront about fees, 2.5%, later will be 1%.
Miner 100% solid
Miner has tons of features, and added value
Miner is faster
Large community
Very well supported
Optiminer
10-20% devfee, though he never says what it is
Miner crashes a lot
Miner has minimal features
Miner is always lagging in speed, partially due to crazy high fee
Hates his users
only for windows
@xeridea You forget that my miner was 2-3X faster than any other public miner when I released it. If I had not released my miner you would still be at Claymore v1 or 2. You can see as well now: Claymore first announced v9 with improvements but somehow this release never made it public after I took back my miner. Draw conclusions yourself
So youâre testing to see if they are reverse engineering your miner?
Boy, this is an astute observationâŚ
Why there are no lions/leopards running around at 200mph or making 500 yard jumps?
Because nature in itâs wisdom makes every predator perfectly balanced with the prey.
Sometimes lion wins and sometimes itâs preyâs turn.
There is no need for CM to release a better version because current holds itâs own.
Once there is a 300mh/s soft for RX 470 (made by SA or Opti, CM will have his don too or perish as a fee collecting dev). A pure darwinian setup.
I just hope that Linux crowd would have an edge (at least for a short time).
We did for a couple of days when Opti first came out.
IIRC it was perhaps 20-30% faster when released, not 2-3x like you say but CM quickly surpassed it, he and has been ahead since then, he has had several speed improvements since initial release, you have had only 1, and another small one due to slight reduction in crazy fee. Claymores has always been rock solid, yours⌠not so much. V9 will release in 1-3 days. Speed is only part of it, yours crashes, and has minimal features.
if someone will do stable or even stableish 300mh/s on RX 470, preferably on Linux, I would not care for âfeaturesâ. Plug and play.
You are quite correct Optiminer,if it was not for your speeds Claymore would not release faster miner and he is holding back waiting for competition, what you say is correct there is no question
This does graphik not look like âperhaps 20-30%â: Miner- Optiminer/Zcash GPU miner v1.7! - #217 by Lucif666
You have to take into account the difficulty increase and your âshareâ of the solutions.
Everyone (cept optiminer) would be more profitable if they replaced Optiminer w/ Claymore because global hash rate would drop, difficulty would drop, and youâd get a larger piece of the pie.
Claymore 195 you, 5 dev = 97.5% share
Optiminer 200 you, 20 dev = 90.9% share
Only problem is there is no linux claymore.
Would be a good time to release your miner
Many people have switched to windows because of more hashrate and stability with CM. Even I made an attempt at it before v0.6.0 but it didnât go as expected. If you release a miner with significant improvements over CM I predict that a good portion of miners will switch to linux and then a good portion of the windows fees will go to you. We donât need fancy features or colors, we need basic features and stability.
Agreed forget the fancy features and give us a stable miner with good code optimised with efficiency as best possible
i could really use some straight up terminal install of zcash for ubuntu 16.04 along with the miner so i can use this cpu to mine
step by step please, newbie here on ubuntu
Hello! Iâm new to Zcash and cryptocurrencies in general. Been CPU mining for a month and today added my first GPU, using a mix of nheqminer (CPU) and silentarmy (GPU), with all but one machine being Linux.
Just wanted to say, you deserve to be paid for your hard work. I said this before that mouth breather ripped you off⌠so Iâm on the record as being on your side, even if I was only referring to the Founders Reward. But itâs the same concept: people who do good work deserve to get paid, and you do good work.
I hope one day youâll consider releasing your software. Iâd love to use it! But either way, you do good work, and no one can take that away from you.
@bio but my point is, Optiminer has never really been faster than CM for more than a couple days, this coupled with instability and lack of features makes it subpar. Of course if there was a miner that was 40% faster, but less features I would use that, but if you are slower, then having less features (except crashesâŚ) is a big lose. CM always rock solid, Optiminer always crashes, must be some jank code. Crashes lowers overall hashrate, and just PITA to work around. Given that Zcash profitability is lower than Eth for many cards, there is really no point using subpar optiminer when there are quality Eth miners for Linux, if you prefer, or Windows if you use it.
maybe i should do it again with the most recent ZCash incase any instrucitons have changed.
you should be able to follow this guide by copy and pasting
they also have a youtube video up somewhere
