Radical “to the moon” thread

I 100% agree with you and disregard all those low quality articles. It takes no time to identify them.

But @Jgx7 also has a point here:
It is a fact that these exist, and get quite some traffic just because they are so many. It’s unfortunate we hear more often of the misleading and wrong articles than the correct ones.

To put it differently:

If someone hears 10x a false version of a story, and only once the right version of it, he’s going to be inclined to believe the wrong one. DYOR is the key, but I think not that many do that.

This is an very good article/announcement, but the bad thing is that i just and only came across here on the forum. And that’s where Jgx7 just has a point, you can read 100’s of articles that Zcash was delisted, banned, whatever. There is a deficit in putting it right all over the net, while it’s mostly impossible to answer and/or put it right a lot of things can be done that such vital information gets a wider spread.

About regulatory issues in Europe, any news why France is banning ALL privacy currencies? Any efford done to check what can be done to bring Zcash back to French people? Could other European (EU) countries follow France example?

I think this is as well a good point that makes sense. In my opinion that’s an issue currently as it’s not granted, at least not in my opinion.

What about people that google “Zcash banned” (ever tried this search?) or similars?
One of the main problems of Zcash in general is that most time, if not always, Zcash brains think that everybody else is or should be on their level, but that’s not the case. Joe and Jane don’t search only for this, don’t understand all technical details. Average Joe and Jane think different, search different, think different, have different needs and different fears/opinions/wishes/you name it…

All for what it’s worth, I regularly encourage others to invest in and use Zcash. And EVERY ONE OF THEM sends me these FUD articles whenever they are published and then question their participation in Zcash.

We have to do a better job ensuring Joe and Jane have access to accurate information about Zcash when they conduct Google search. Does anyone from ECC, ZOMG, ZF reach out to the authors of these FUD pieces to request corrections?

Again, I am 100% bullish on Zcash and its future prospects and I think Boxalex brings up some very good points here.

10,000- 20,000 per month on marketing would not be too much. If it helps to educate people, and thereby reduce the risk of ownership (in people’s minds), the price should increase. It for example, the price goes to 200, the marketing pays for Itself because now the funding is based on a 200 price as opposed to 50-75.

It’s just a fact that Marketing pays off. It’s why every major company does it. And it it works! It’s a form of education and helps consumers.

  1. Pay people to write articles
  2. Advertise on Facebook and Instagram
  3. Connect with people - secure and safe and reliable. Show how people use zcash in everyday. Discuss how jo Morgan was helped.

Address the negative news head on. Get the word out.

Coincidentally, ZOMG has two of those three things on the list of things we would like to fund.

  1. Educational articles about Zcash
  2. Show how to use Zcash in everyday life

If anyone knows people who do this work, send them over to Zcash Community Grants | The Zcash Community Grants program funds independent teams entering the Zcash ecosystem, to perform major ongoing development (or other work) for the public good of the Zcash ecosystem.

I would just a professional marketing firm. Zcash Is a brand.

I like branding around security - the inference being Bitcoin and others are not secure. Privacy tends to be associated more with doing things you possibly shouldn’t…

ZEME is our DOGE.

Missed this one, equivocal

This is just weak marketing, IMO. A good marketing department (whatever that looks like for Zcash) is a proactive one. Whatever articles are coming out talking about regulatory issues wrt Zcash (and other private coins), should have somebody reaching out and giving an official statement to said publication. Can’t expect people to be curious and then Google it — normies are generally lazy and will just take something they hear at face value. But if they do Google it, ensure that those articles that have been incorrectly written, are updated appropriately.

Look @ the XMR community on 4chan (biz). Every time you bring up Zcash, you’ll face countless retorts of outdated fud. Why? It’s an educational/marketing problem. Some of them are stubborn and don’t agree with the founders fund, trusted setup, etc etc. ECC or someone related to Zcash (there’s so many committees so I really don’t even know wtf to reference here), should have talking points to dispel the fud, because it drives a lot of people away from Zcash, even if it’s not true (or is it? Prove me wrong). Do you know how many times the Zooko back door tweet comes up? Every person that sees that without context is a potential new Monero user.

Someone in another thread suggested making tmek some sort of ambassador. I think that’s a great idea. Crypto Twitter personalities can pull a lot of weight. Go where the discussion for crypto is and then advertise/promote.

I’ve got lots of ideas, but I just have to rant, because it’s embarrassing to see how something with such good tech is riddled with all this infighting and committee obfuscation.

You can’t rely on the community to do everything. Gotta have a leader to step up and lead.

When we have the inevitable 20x, y’all be crying for a bear market. I’m long term bullish and want lower prices.

Interesting opinion, what if prices don’t rise?

That’s absolutly borderline and missleading. I already thinking if i should flag it.
It’s one thing when someone says “in my opinion”, “maybe”, “hopefully”, “i wish it would reach” and a totally different story if someone is missleading others with “inevitable” which suggest it’s 100% sure that it will happen.

I suggest you change that wording in fairness to all readers of this topic!

I agree, it is misleading… by a lot! I think we’ll go way higher than just 20x

You probably have forgotten to check the name of the thread, Alex  Look up!

The prophecy will be fulfilled. This IS financial advice.

1500 in early April? The right decision, I’m going to bank! And then bang and $ 50 in April, and down along with the entire market, and then bang and Halo and then … nothing will change

Next country to ban privacy coins:

30 January 2021, 09:06 EET
India plans to introduce a bill seeking to prohibit all private cryptocurrencies in the country during the budget session of parliament that began Friday.

Your post is somewhat misleading. The India legislative bill seeks to ban private cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin for the level of privacy that it provides. Following this logic, the ban would be enforced on all cryptocurrencies that use pseudonymous wallet addresses, which enable experienced users to have some level of privacy.

But who in the crypto community would consider Bitcoin to be a “privacy coin”? Very few, if any. That is why your post is misleading.
