As a solo miner, will I ever be able to mine a single ZEC?

I think so many people are contributing hashing power right now that the difficulty needs to catch up.

Same here.
Strange because last time it was downloading both “sprout-proving.key” (902Mo) and “sprout-verifying.key”. I still have those files but their date is 24/10/2016 so they haven’t been updated as they should.

The guide says to use:

addnode=mainnet.z.cash
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=head -c 32 /dev/urandom | base64
gen=1

Should be be substituting a username and password of our own creation or using the arguments exactly as above?

i have not added a user nor password nor t address. Where will my coins go? Also am i mining?

If you want to mine on suprnova:

1- stop zcashd (zcash-cli stop) & desactivate mining with zcashd (delete gen=1 in zcash.conf)

2- go to suprnova.cc, log into your account =>> go to help menu ==> howto start ==> search for the instructions to mine with “nheqminer” on linux.
