I just finished to synchronzie the zcash4win wallet and as first step I wanted to do a backup and export the private key.
So I went to the Wallet button and I chose Backup…
When I type in a name for the backup and I have chosen the location, I click on save and it says me it was successfull, but when I go to check there is no file in the chosen location.
Question. Am I dumb and expect something that works differently or is there a problem with my software?
Hello there, i can’t make my wallet sync 100% but i am able to see my transactions in it. I’ve been stock at 99.75% for two days. Can you tell me what is wrong with my wallet? Thank you so much.
This may sound like a really dumb question (sorry), but I am looking at setting up a Virtual Machine with Zcash4win on that machine.
The machine will be backed up every night to a HDD in a different location with 5 of the previous backups kept. Does this mean that if I have a problem with the wallet.dat file, I can restore from a previous backup and therefore not lose any ZEC that I have?
So I have an issue…i downloaded and synched with the blockchain however it won’t mine? It says zcash is running on the bottom as well. Everything seems to be good except processing the transactions. Any help would be appreciated.
are you wanting to solo mine? that’s not going to be very efficient, and your chance of winning a block reward is very low. check out the #mining topic for tons about 3rd party mining software for GPU’s
Hey David thanks for getting back to me…i was planning to solo mine, I set
up a massive VM and running it off that. I suppose if it doesn’t produce
sufficient mining I could switch to pool mining.
Do you have any idea why it’s not mining. I am fairly new to this
enterprise however I do have some basic knowledge. I successfully installed
and synced with the blockchain. However when it’s running it doesn’t
actually mine as nothing shows up on the win4zcash userface.
In the file %AppData%\Zcash\zcash.conf you need to add the config options for mining by hand.
They are:
gen=1
equihashsolver=tromp
genproclimit=-1
And you are probably going to want to change the genproclimit= line to something other than -1, which means “use all cores”. Just set that to how many to use for mining.
See now I was thinking that as I was reading other comments you wrote but I
probably didn’t put it in right in the gloud shell…i am better with Linux
command as Windows gets confusing because it seems every time I try to
input a command it says directory can’t be found or some nonsense like that.
how do I properly open %AppData%\Zcash\zcash.conf file and input the gen=1
equihashsolver=tromp
genproclimit=-1… and then save it on the Windows shell? Or can i do thin
through desktop?
I appreciate the help and I will set send you a tip to your address for
helping me out.
