ZEC Wallet Full Node on Linux 0 Connections

Hi guys,

I used to run a full wallet node on Windows many moons ago and I thought I’d have a bash at running the Linux version now seeing as Windows isn’t supported anymore.

Anyway I got the thing install and it starts fine but doesn’t download any blocks at all, and has 0 connections. I’ve had a look in zcash.conf and things seem to look fine (I changed maxconnections to 10 but it’s done nothing).

The main reason I’m trying to run the node is I’d like to extract my ZEC off my wallet.dat and this is the only way I can think of doing it as I can’t find my seed phrase, only my addresses and keys.

Any help on how I could get the node running would be great!

Thanks

I don’t have your problem. I have my own Windows version zcashd 6.0.0 compiled by myself. If you need it, I can send it to you or give you detailed compilation methods.

The version you’re using is outdated. Use Releases · zcash/zcash · GitHub v6.0 as NU6 occurred sometimes ago.

Found that if I go to Zcash Full Node and CLI — Zcash Documentation 6.0.0 documentation instead of Zcash Full Node and CLI — Zcash Documentation 5.10.0 documentation it gives the instructions to update to v6.0.0 which the “latest” page doesn’t (it’s outdated), so I’m updating now on my Ubuntu VM.

Hopefully this will help anyone else who had the same problem!

If you have your private keys, your best choice is to import then into a light wallet such as YWallet, for example.

No need to sync a full node.
