Zcash Pool- Zcash.flypool.org

Thanks @dlehenky, I’ve been mining for nanopool for the past hour and a half for free, so I need to do something… oh and it’s good to see you over here! Thanks!

Thanks! It’s great to be able to put my CPUs to work on zcash. I’m feeling a lot better about building my rigs with 2core 2thread i3 processors now  I’m getting 12.5 sols/s each from 20 of them, and then I have two 6core 12thread i7s going, too. Currently I’m making enough to pay the electric bill for my ETH farm. Gotta love it! Not to mention the collapse of ETH difficulty! I hope you do well on flypool. I know dr_pra will work until it’s the best pool available, there’s no doubt of that. Cheers!

@peter_zcash developers have released 1.0.1 update. When payouts to z address will be available?

How’s about a workaround for z-address-payments?

The Link you posted on the flypool-website says this → Temporary workaround for miners/pools: Patch with #1718 or set -blockminsize to 300KB.

Is it so difficult to set the blockminsize to 300KB?

We will be starting with payments to z-addresses within the next hour.

@neox Setting the blockminsize to 300kb only helps if every miner in the network does it. Otherwise the z to z txs will still remain unconfirmed for hours.

@peter_zcash Can you please explain statistics for this account?

Things like this make me wanna move to a different pool.

What exactly seems odd to you?

The average, if you’re using sliding average should not have spikes like it has in the middle. Also it’s not moving up, although my speed is.

The spike was because of a bug in our payment system (as the average hashrate was lower than it should be). The average hashrate is calculated over the last 24h so it will take quite some time to catch up.

Please note that the average hashrate is just a statistic which has no influence on your income.

We have updated the pool to Zcash version 1.0.1 and tried to enable payments to z addresses. Unfortunately as soon as we sent the payment transaction the daemon simply crashes! We have opened a bug report (Daemon crashes when sending from z address to multiple z addresses · Issue #1779 · zcash/zcash · GitHub) and are awaiting feedback from the developers.

Because of this issue please DO NOT mine to z addresses for now

Have you tried to send to one address at time but in the loop?

I am currently trying it, but each transaction takes 3-5 minutes to be generated so this tactic is not feasible.

Edit: Sending just to a single z address has now worked. But the transaction still does not get confirmed. Unfortunately we cannot enable payments to z addresses as long as those issues are not resolved by the Zcash devs.

We have added instructions on how to use the new SILENTARMY stratum miner with the pool. This miner allows to mine on Linux with AMD GPUs.

A quick question - when I join the pool and run nheqminer for instance, does zcashd have to be running as well or I can launch zcashd just to get my t- or z-address, then stop it, and then start mining with nheqminer and my t-address?

No need to run the daemon if you are pool mining.

As our initial 0%fee week is over the pool fee is now 1%.

it’s also integrated into the nicehash-miner 0.4a which can mine on flypool too and I’ve tried it on my old samsung notebook but it crashed the graphics driver on my AMD M8800 … back to the 0.3a ^^

If my CPU supports only AVX, then during the compilation of nheqminer I need to use cmake -DXENON=1 .. or cmake -DXENON=2 .. will work as well?

I am referring to the instructions from this page

P.S. To check if your system supports AVX or AVX2, use grep avx /proc/cpuinfo or grep avx2 /proc/cpuinfo and see which one returns something. If there is return message, then that version is supported ( p.p.s I have no idea what is AVX, just know how to check it  )

sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt install qt5-default
sudo apt-get install cmake build-essential libboost-all-dev
git clone GitHub - sarath-hotspot/nheqminer: Equihash miner for NiceHash
cd nheqminer/nheqminer
mkdir build
cd build
cmake …
make

before running I use
screen -a
ctrl+a+d

screen -r to check

./nheqminer -l us1-zcash.flypool.org:3333 -u taddress.work -t cputhreadsuwant2run

when closing putty this helps not shutting it done

Note: You might need to install git

This works for anything… AVX and None AVX

Thanks @trolloniex. That DXENON option was mentioned as a way to speed up things, so I thought it was important

The current luck of the pool (calculated over the last 24h) is now displayed on the Statistics page: Zcash Flypool - Zcash (ZEC) mining pool

Currently the luck is at 101% so the pool earned 1% more than what was expected. We will also add a long term luck indicator soon.
